You know, we said we'd do better about blogging, didn't we? :) We promise, it isn't for lack of trying! Because of your support for our Valentines Day bath fizzies, Bathgasm has had its best sales season EVER this February. We just had to tell you all a big THANK YOU to everyone who bought or spread the word about our fizzies. So here it is:

Ahem. :) Now that we're done shouting from the rooftops, we thought we'd share some of the things that made this month great for us! For starters, Bathgasm was featured in The Oklahoman newspaper in their Valentines Day Gift Guide! This was super exciting for us, as we even got a photo of our Conversation Heart bath fizzies in the paper:

On top of the awesomeness of being featured in The Oklahoman, our Conversation Heart bath fizzies were also featured in a video review by Youtube beauty Guru Aubrey London! She really enjoyed our fizzies, which gave us lots of warm fuzzies inside. Here's an embedded version of the review if you'd like to watch!

Finally, we are over the moon that The Makeup Bar in Oklahoma City has been carrying our Valentines Day items as well! The Makeup Bar is a full service spa and retail store for ALL your beauty needs. They carry other lines we just LOVE such as Mario Badescu, NARS, and Chantecaille. We are so happy to be featured alongside such amazing and high quality products! :)

That's about it for this time around, but we did want to let everyone know that we're taking a short vacation from now through next Wednesday. We will reopen our Etsy store on Thursday, February 18th. Not only will this give us time to restock - you've been so good to us that we're OUT of everything! lol - but we'll also be getting some much needed R&R after this incredibly busy season. We hope that you have a fabulous Valentine's Day and that you can get some rest in, too! :)

Apologies are in order, dear readers, as we got so busy during the Christmas holidays that we just couldn't keep up with the blog! :( So sorry about that - we'll do better now that it's the new year!

A peek inside Bathgasm, Part 2

Happy Monday, all! Today I'll be showing you another area in my studio. This area is my storage and drying rack space. Take a peek inside! :)

This converted closet space serves as my storage area and drying rack. All my fizzy materials are safely stored in the bins below the drying racks, and my shipping materials and dry erase markers are stored on the bottom shelf.

Here are my drying racks! You can see a legion of full size bath bombs as well as samples. These drying racks are awesome because they are in a climate controlled and humidity free environment, plus they keep the bath bombs safe from potential contaminants as they dry. I simply close the closet door when I am not making bath bombs and I never have to worry about anything disturbing them while I am away.

Here's a closeup of an army of samples on my drying rack. I send out a ton of these all the time, so the second shelf is pretty much relegated to samples only these days!

Finally, here's a picture of the dry erase board where I keep my list of bath bombs to be made. It's right there on the closet door so I can always keep track of my order statuses easily. This closet setup really is a lifesaver! :)

Hey, everyone! I was thinking earlier... I've never posted pictures of me or my studio! So today, I've decided to remedy that. Now you can know the wacky woman behind Bathgasm!

This is me, holding up some of my handmade fizzy scrubs! :) I love what I do!

If you were to see me in my studio (which is a huge, spa-like bathroom), this is what I'd typically look like. Bent over my stand mixer with gloves on, mixing lots of good-smelling goodies.

Viola! Bath bombs! These guys are dry already... Bath bombs take about 3 or 4 days to cure depending on their size.

Finally, it's the testing tub! I am my own biggest product tester, and this is where I test. It's a tough job, right? ;)

New Listings!

Hello again, dear readers! Sorry the posts have been few and far between; it's been a busy month so far. We have some exciting new listings to tell you about! :)

First off, we've been busy creating lots of new bath bomb samples for you to enjoy! Sometimes it can be a real challenge to choose from our extensive list of scents. This way, you can order sample sizes first to help you decide! Plus,the colors are bright and lovely, and you can try as many scents as you like for only $1 per ounce. Pretty cool, huh?

Next in our lineup of new listings, we have our new ginger lime bath bombs! We love this new scent so much - it's citrusy and slightly spicy and is a great scent for both men and women! Check them out!

Hooray for the weekend! Sorry for the lack of updates this week - it has been an extraordinarily busy one for us. However, it is now October, which makes us so happy because it's finally FALL!

To celebrate the new season, we have three new in stock scents: almond biscotti, ginger lime, and Christmas spice. No new listings with these scents yet, but you can always ask for a custom listing with any in stock scent and the color of your choice and we will be happy to make them fresh for you! These scents are also available in our 3-pack and 5-pack of bath bombs, as well as our wonderful fizzy scrubs.

Hello again! Hope everyone is doing okay on this rather sad day of remembrance. Each and every one of us can probably remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when the news hit eight years ago. My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone on that terrible day.

On a more positive note, we have new listings today! First off is a fresh new batch of raspberry cream cupcake bath fizzies!

I think most people would agree that a lot of the time, it's the little things that count. Sure, big things are awesome, but little things (especially surprises) can make a bad day so much better. Kind of like bath fizzies! :)

Sigh! LOL Today was just one of those days when it comes to making fizzies. Did you know that it's impossible to make bath fizzies that are the right consistency when it's humid out? I tried to make a batch to experiment for a new project (still top secret!), but the fizzies were having nothing to do with that today! lol Oh, well. Guess I'll kick back a bit and wait for tomorrow! :)

Boy, have we been busy lately! :) First things first, Bathgasm's Facebook page reached a whopping 100 FANS yesterday! Thank you so much to everyone who made this possible! To celebrate, we are offering 10% OFF in our Etsy store if you mention "FAN SALE" in the message to seller area during checkout. Hooray!

In other news, we just released our new line of FIZZY SCRUBS! These bright and colorful scrubs are a mixture of bath fizzy, shea butter, and coarse and fine sea salts. You can order just one bottle that lasts for several baths for $4.75, or you can make a gift set with all three colors for $13.50. Check them out!

Here in a day or so, we will be having a sneak preview of our PERSONALIZED bath fizzies. We are extra super excited about these - they make perfect wedding favors or gifts! :)

Hello, and welcome to the Bathgasm FAQ! This post is where we will answer all of your frequently asked questions. Please let us know if you have a question you'd like us to add!

-What is a bath bomb?

A bath bomb is a ball that you toss into the tub while bathing. It fizzes and skips around your bath tub as it dissolves, releasing its scent and moisturizing ingredients. Bath bombs are a lot of fun due to their fizzing action - both kids and adults love them, and they leave your skin silky soft!

-Is a bath bomb a type of soap?

No, bath bombs aren't like soap. They don't clean your skin in the same way soap does. They are typically used after washing with soap in the bath in order to soak, relax, and enjoy the aromatherapy and moisturizing benefits of the bomb.

-Will your bath bombs stain my tub?

Generally speaking, no. :) Modern plastic or porcelain tubs will not be stained at all with proper use (meaning that you fill your tub with water to dilute the bath bomb). Our colorants are the same ones that cake decorators use for coloring icing, so they are completely water soluable. However, if you have a very old bathtub that is rather porous, you may wish to stick with light colored bath bombs to be completely safe.

-Will your bath bombs stain ME?

Unfortunately, this CAN happen from time to time if you are touching the bath bomb as it fizzes around your tub. This generally only happens with bright or dark colored bath bombs, and it only affects your hands (or whatever has been touching the bomb itself). Never fear - the colors usually wash right off with soap and water! If you have been holding the wet bath bomb for a long time, it might take a day or two to come off completely, but rest assured that the effects are not permanent (or we would always have bright pink hands!).

-Do the colors of the bombs fade with time?

It's definitely possible. We've seen the bath bombs fade under direct prolonged exposure to UV and fluorescent lighting, especially the pink and purple colors. We strongly recommend that if you want your colors to remain bright and vibrant, you store them somewhere dark until you use them. If the colors do fade, don't worry - the bomb will still react the same way with water!

-How do I use your fizzy scrubs?

There are two ways you can use it: 1) As a bath soak - simply scoop out the desired amount of scrub with a spoon and dump it into the tub; soak and moisturize the dry skin away! Or 2) Use it as a scrub - scoop out a small amount of the scrub with a spoon and put it in your hand. Wet the scrub to activate the fizzing and moisturizers and gently rub it onto your driest areas. Then rinse and feel the soft, smooth skin! (When using fizzy scrub in this manner, we recommend that you use this BEFORE shaving, as shaving can make your skin sensitive to the sea salts!)

-Will your products irritate my skin / cause skin allergies?

This can be a hard question to answer, as everyone's skin is different. What we can say is that we select the purest ingredients that we can find for our products, and that we clearly display our ingredient list on our listings. If you are concerned about skin allergies, please check the ingredient list. We do not use harsh chemicals in our products in order to minimize irritation; however, if you have extremely sensitive skin, it may be a good idea to order samples to try before you buy.

-Do your products contain preservatives?

Our bath bombs do NOT contain preservatives. They simply don't need them. After each bomb is made, it is shrink wrapped to protect it from humidity and bacteria. This is enough to keep it fresh and ready for use.

Our fizzy scrubs, however, DO tend to need a preservative to keep them fresh. This is because you will be using them over a long period of time in humid, hot conditions. While we strive to keep our products as natural as possible, our research on natural preservatives has indicated that all 100% natural preservatives are just not all that effective in skin-safe amounts. Therefore, for our fizzy scrubs, we have recently elected to use a preservative called Cosmocil CQ to keep them fresh and safe for our customers. You can read about this skin-safe preservative here at the Skin Deep Database site. However, if this makes you uncomfortable, you can always request that we leave out the preservative from your fizzy scrub. In this case, we highly recommend that you keep it refrigerated between uses.

-How long will it take for my items to ship?

Current turnaround times are posted on our Etsy store policies page, which can be found here. Large or custom orders may take additional time. We will do our best to be in contact with you regarding the timing of your order. -Do you charge sales tax?

Yes. Per Oklahoma state law, we charge 8.25% sales tax to buyers who reside within the state of Oklahoma. We are not required to charge sales tax to out of state buyers, though. Sorry, fellow Okies! :)

-Do you ever have sales or giveaways?

-Is your Etsy store trade-friendly?
